Given :

Mass of body, m = 5kg

Force acting on the body, F = 30 N

To find :

Acceleration produced in the body

Solution :

here, we can use Newton's 2nd law of motion

The rate of change of linear Momentum of a body with time is proportional to the net external force acting on it .i.e.,

  • F = ma

here,

F denotes Force

m denotes Mass

a denotes accerlation

by substituting all the given values in the formula,

F = ma

➠ 30 = (5)(a)

➠ a = 30/5

➠ a = 6m/s²{.}

thus, acceleration produced in the body is 6m/s²

Remember !

S.I unit of Force is Newton (N)

S.I unit of acceleration is meter per second square (m/s²)

Answer :

›»› The acceleration produced in the body is 6 m/s².

Given :

  • A body of mass 5kg at rest. A force of 30N acts on the body.

To Calculate :

  • The acceleration produced in the body.

How to calculate?

Here in this question we have to calculate the acceleration produced in the body. Since, we are provided that, the mass of a body and force acts on the body we can use second law of Newton to calculate the acceleration produced in the body which says F = ma.

Here,

  • F is the Force.
  • m is the Mass.
  • a is the Acceleration.

Units,

  • The unit of Force is N.
  • The unit of Mass is kg.
  • The unit of Acceleration is m/s².

We are asked to find the acceleration produced in the body. So, we must find "a".

Let's calculate Acceleration produced in the body...

Calculation :

From second law of Newton

→ F = ma

→ 30 = 5 * a

→ 30 = 5a

→ a = 30/5

a = 6

Hence, the acceleration produced in the body is 6 m/s².
