a body start to slide on horizontal surface with an initial velocity of 0.5 m/s.due to friction it's velocity decrease at the rate of 0.05m/s ?

we know that
 v = u +at
 
here 
u = 0.5
 a = -0.05 m/s 
v = 0 m/s 

so, time taken to stop will be 
t = -u/a
 = -0.5/-0.05
 
thus, t = 10s
