A body starting from rest accelerates uniformly along a straight line at rate of 10ms-2 for 5s. Then, it moves for 2s with a uniform velocity of 10ms-1. then retards uniformly and comes to rest in 10s. Draw velocity time graph and find the total distance covered by it? Also find the total distance travelled within the whole time.

Answer:

Total distance travelled = Area under the v – t graph

                                        = 1/2 × 50 × (10 + 2)

                                       =300 m
