A body starting from rest accelerates uniformly along a straight line at rate of 5ms-2 for 2s. it moves for 3s with a uniform velocity of 10ms-1. then retards uniformly and comes to rest in 3s. draw velocity time graph and find the total distance covered by it?

Use equation "v=u+at" to find velocity acquired in 2 sec...the v for first 2sec will come as 10m/s...so the graph will be a straight line upto 10m/s then it will be a line parallel to time axis for next 3sec...now the line will go down upto the 8 sec mark ...as it is retarding uniformly....summary..draw line upto 10m/s from zero(upto t=2) then draw line parallel to time axis (from t=2 to t=5) then bring the line down(from t=5 to t=8)
