u =0 m/s (body starts from rest)

v = 180 m/s

t =0.05h=180s

Using first equation of motion,

v=u+at

a = tv−u

   =  180180−0

    =1s2m

Acceleration

Answer:

Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s

Final velocity, v = 180 m/s

Time taken, t = 0.05 hours = 3min = 180 seconds

Acceleration, a = \frac{v-u}{t}

Substituting the values,

a = \frac{180-0}{180} = \frac{180}{180} = 1.

Therefore, the acceleration of the body is 1m/s^{2}.

Facts

✔ Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity with time. Its SI unit is m/s^{2}.

✔ Velocity is speed with direction.

✔ Negative acceleration is known as retardation.
