A body starts from rest and moves with uniform acceleration of 6 m/s. What distance does it cover after 3 seconds?

By one of the formula of kinematics ,

s= ut + 1/2 at²

where s is the distance covered

u is the initial speed or velocity

a is the acceleration and

t is the time taken.

Here,

u = 0 (. body starts from rest)

a= 6m/s²

and t = 3 sec

we have to find s.

s = ut + 1/2 at²

s= (0)(3) + 1/2 (6)(3)²

s= 1/2 (6)(9)

s= 27 m
