We should calculate the ratio of the distance travelled by the body in 4th and 3rd second.
• according to equations of motion,
Sn = u + a/2(2n-1)
At 4 sec,
S4 = 0 + a/2( 8-1)
S4 = 7a/2 --------------( 1 )
Similarly,
S3 = 0 + a/2 ( 6 - 1 )
S3 = 5a/ 2 --------------( 2 )
Now the ratio between, S4 and S3 is,
S4 / S3 = 7a/ 2 X 2 / 5a
Therefore,
S4 / S3 = 7/ 5
