A body starts rolling over a horizontal surface with an initial velocity of 0.5m/s. Due to friction, its velocity decreases at the rate of 0.05m/s2. How much time will it take for the body to stop?

hello friend
we can find the answer by using first law of motion
= v = u + at
given, u = 0.5m/s
velocity decreases = 0.05m/s²
so ,
0= 0.5 + ( - 0.05 )t [ (-) sign due to decrease in velocity ]
= - 0.5 = - 0.05
= -0.5 / 0.05 = t
= t= 10 sec
it will take 10 sec for a body to stop
hope it helps ..

Heya,
Given,
Initial velocity (u) =0.5 m/s
Final velocity (v) = 0
Retardation = 0.05 m/s ²
V = u + at
0 = 0.5 + 0.05 t
Time taken = 0.5/0.05
= 10 sec
Time taken by the body to stop = 10 sec
hope it helps u..........
