Answer :

The distance covered by the object is next half second would depend on the type of motion it is undergoing

Explanation :

Uniform Velocity

  • If the object is moving with uniform velocity, meaning it would taken half second to cover half meter during due course of the journey. Thus,it would cover half meter in the next half minute

Uniform Acceleration

  • If the object is moving with uniform acceleration with respect to time,it would cover 1 m in the next half second,2m in the other and so on

Non Uniform Motion

  • If the object is under non uniform motion, the distance covered by the object can't be determined from the given data

Explanation:

  • The body will take the same time i.e. half second to incline down the remaining half meter of the slide.
  • This is because the acceleration due to gravity of a body is same throughout the slide.
  • As, acceleration is same, the velocity is also same. Certainly, as velocity and distance travelled remains same, the time taken also remains same.
  • This case is applicable only without considering the friction factor. As friction coefficient varies with distance travelled, the time also varies when friction coefficient is taken into account.
