The Body B moves faster than Body A as speed of body B is greater than speed of body A

Given :

A body travels a distance of 600 m in 1 m while Body B travels a distance 1 km in 20 seconds

To find :

Which body moves faster.Give reason?

Solution :

Step 1 of 3 :

Calculate speed of body A

Here it is given that body A travels a distance of 600 m in 1 m

Distance = 600 m

Time = 1 m = 60 sec

∴ Speed of body A

\displaystyle \sf   =  \frac{Distance}{Time}

\displaystyle \sf   =  \frac{600}{60}  \:  \: m/s

\displaystyle \sf   =  10 \:  \: m/s

Step 2 of 3 :

Calculate speed of body B

Here it is given that Body B travels a distance 1 km in 20 seconds.

Distance = 1 km = 1000 m

Time = 20 sec

∴ Speed of body B

\displaystyle \sf   =  \frac{Distance}{Time}

\displaystyle \sf   =  \frac{1000}{20}  \:  \: m/s

\displaystyle \sf   =  50 \:  \: m/s

Step 3 of 3 :

Find Which body moves faster.

Speed of Body A = 10 m/s

Speed of Body B = 50 m/s

∴ Speed of Body B > Speed of Body A

So Body B moves faster than Body A

Hence Body B moves faster than Body A as speed of body B is greater than speed of body A
