 A body weighs .1 gf in air, 75.5 gf in water and 73.8 gf in liquid. Find the relative density of liquid *​

Answer:

3 gf cm−3

Given, weight of the body in air, w1=75 gf

Weight of the body in water, w2=67 gf

Weight of the body in the given liquid, w3=51 gf

∴ Apparent loss of weight of the body in the given liquid =w1−w3=75−51=24 gf

Apparent loss of weight of the body in water w1−w2−75−67=8 gf.

Relative density of the liquid =w1−w3w1−w2=248=3

∴ Density of the liquid = 3 gf cm−3
