a)Apparent Loss in weight of body = 150 gf

b)The upthrust of the body = 150 gf

c)The volume of the body = 150\ cm^3

Explanation:

It is given that,

Weight of the body in air,

W = 600 gf = 600 g dynes

Weight of the body in water,

W = 450 gf = 450 g dynes

Let us assume that, density of the body=d, volume = V.

Density of water = q

Now,

W = Vdg

⇒ 600g = Vdg

Buoyant force, B = Vqg

⇒ B = Vg  [q = 1 g/cm^3]

Now, W = W – B

⇒450g = 600g – Vg

⇒V = 150 cm^3

i)Volume of the body=150cm^3

ii) Loss in weight = Buoyant force

                           = Vqg = 150 × 1 × g

                         = 150g dynes

        Loss in weight = 150 gf

Now, iii)Upthrust = Buoyant force

          Upthrust = 150 gf

Answer: a) =150cm3
               b)= 150gf

               c)= 150gf

Explanation:

W = Vdg

⇒ 600g = Vdg

Buoyant force, B = Vqg

⇒ B = Vg  [q = ]

Now, W = W – B

⇒450g = 600g –

V=150

2) Loss in weight = Buoyant force

                          = Vqg = 150 × 1 × g

                        = 150g dynes

       Loss in weight = 150 gf

3)Upthrust = Buoyant force
