A body whose mass is 50 kg stands on a spring weighing machine inside a lift . The lift starts to ascend with an acceleration of 2 m/s^{2} .

1) What is the reading of the machine ?

2)Find its reading when lift moves with a velocity of 5 m/s .

3) What inference you can obtain if the reading drops to zero suddenly .
(Take g = 10 m/s^{2})

Answer- 60 kg

The net acceleration will be g+a when a lift is moving upward so, the net weight is :

R=m(g+a)=50×(10+2)=600N=60kg
