Answer:Ramesh will buy the shirt= probablity is 88/100

                                                                44/50

                                                                 22/25

 so the probablity is of 22/25

kewal will buy the shirt= 92/100

                                        46/50

                                       23/25

so the probablity is 23/25

Answer:

i) P=\frac{22}{25}

ii) P=\frac{24}{25}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A box consist of 100 shirt of which 88 are good,8 have minor defects and 4 have major defects. Ramesh, shopkeeper will buy only those shirts which are good but 'kewal' another shopkeeper will not buy shirts with major defects. A shirt is taken out of the box at random.

To find : What is the probability that :

(i) Ramesh will buy selected shirt?

(ii) Kewal will buy selected shirt?

Solution :

Total number of shirts n= 100

Good = 88

Minor defect = 8

Major defect = 4

Let A be the event that Ramesh choose shirt were good

i.e n(A)=88

Let B be the event that shirt is good with minor defect choose by Kewal.

i.e, n(B)=88+8=96

(i) Ramesh will buy selected shirt

P=\frac{n(A)}{n}

P=\frac{88}{100}

P=\frac{22}{25}

(ii) Kewal will buy selected shirt

P=\frac{n(B)}{n}

P=\frac{96}{100}

P=\frac{24}{25}
