Total possible outcomes possible earlier was =12
let there were x red balls
so,P(getting a red ball)= x/12
After adding 6 more red balls
total outcomes become 12+6=18
total red balls now =x+6
P(getting a red balls after the addition of 6more red balls)=(x+6)/18
A T Q
x+6 = x
—-- — ×2
18 12
6×(x+6)=18×x
6x+72=18x
72=18x-6x
72=12x
x=6
hence there were six red balls in the bag
hope it helps
