Answer:

Here is your answer

probablity of rotten oranges = 0.06

let number of rotten oranges is x then

0.06=x/150

x=9

number of good oranges

= 150-9 => 141

probablity of good oranges = 141/150 =0.94

Hope you got it

Q-A box contains 150 oranges. If one orange. If one orange is taken out from the box at random the probability of its being rotten is 0.06, then find the number of good oranges in the box.

Given,

Total oranges = 150

The probability of choosing a rotten orange = 0.06

To Find,

The number of good oranges in the box = ?

Solution,

Let the rotten oranges be x

The probability of choosing a rotten orange = Total rotten oranges / Total oranges

The probability of choosing a rotten orange = x / 150

The probability of choosing a rotten orange = 0.06 = x / 150

x = 0.06 * 150

x = 9

the number of rotten organes = 9

The number of good oranges = Total oranges - rotten oranges
The number of good oranges = 150 - 9

The number of good oranges = 141

Hence, the number of good oranges in the box is 141.
