A box contains 17 cards 1, 2, 3, …., 17 and are mixed thoroughly. A card is drawn at random from the box. Find that the number on the card is: (a) even (b) odd (c) prime. ​

(a) Odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17) = 9. Therefore, Probability =  \frac{9}{17}

(b) Even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16) = 8. Therefore, Probability =  \frac{8}{17}

(c) Prime numbers (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17) = 7. Probability =  \frac{7}{17}
