Total number of marbles = 9

✬ White, Blue, Red = 2/9, 1/3, 4/9 ✬

Given:

A box contains 3 blue , 2 white & 4 red marbles.

A marble is drawn at random from the box.

To Find:

Probability of getting each coloured marbles.

Solution: Total number of marbles in the box will be

Blue + White + Red

3 + 2 + 4 = 9

➟ Total outcome = 9

➟ Favourable outcome = 2 white balls

★ Probability = Favourable/Total outcome ★

\implies{\rm } P (White ball) = 2/9

∴ Probability of getting a white ball is 2/9.

___________________

➟ Total outcome = 9

➟ Favourable outcome = 3

\implies{\rm } P (Blue ball) = 3/9 = 1/3

∴ Probability of getting a blue ball is 1/3.

___________________

➟ Total outcome = 9

➟ Favourable outcome = 4

\implies{\rm } P (Red ball) = 4/9

∴ Probability of getting a red ball is 4/9.
