Probability

Total number of chocolates in the box =60

Probability of getting a milk chocolate =\frac{2}{3}

Number of milk chocolates =\frac{2}{3} \times 60=40

Hence, the number of coco chocolates =60-40=20

So, the required answer is 20.

Note:

  • Probability is the measure of liklihood of any event to occur.
  • Sample Space is the  set of all the possible outcomes to occur in any trial.
  • Outcome is the possible result of a trial/experiment.
  • Event  is a single outcome of an experiment.

Given:

A box contains some milk chocolates and some

coco chocolates and there are 60 chocolates in

the box.

To Find:

number of coco chocolates

Solution:

as we know,

Probability= no. of favourable events / total events

in this case

⇒ Probability of milk chocolate =

   = no of milk chocolate / Total no of chocolate

⇒ 2/3 = no of milk chocolate / 60

⇒ 60 × 2 /3 = no of milk chocolate

⇒ 40 = no of chocolate

total no of chocolate = no of milk chocolate + no of coco chocolate

60 = 40 + no of cocoa chocolate

no of coco chocolate = 20

Hence, the no of coco chocolate is 20.
