Given that,

➡ area of the trapezium is 64cm²

Using the formula :

Area of the trapezium = ½(a + b) h

=> 64 = ½ (10+6)h

=> 64 = ½ × 16h

=> 64 = 8h

=> h = 8 cm.

Hence, The distance between the parallel sides is 8cm.

Given:

  • Area of trapezium = 64 cm
  • Length of the parallel sides = 10 cm and 6 cm

To Find:

  • Distance between parallel side, (h) ?

Solution:

Let the distance between the parallel sides be "h".

As we know that,

Area of the trapezium = ½(a + b) h

According to the question,

➜64 = ½ (10+6)h

➜64 = ½ × 16h

➜64 = 8h

h = 8 cm.

Hence, The distance between the parallel sides is 8cm.
