A boy bought some sweets at Rs 5 each and some samosas at Rs 3 each. The number
sweets and samosas added up to 25, and he paid Rs 95. Find the individual number
sweets and samosas he bought.​

Let number of samosas be x and the number of sweets be y.

Then A. T. Q,

x+y=25.....(i)

5x+3y=95.....(ii)

On solving both the equations,

Multiply eq(i)by 5 and then Subtracting it from eq(ii)

5x+5y=125

5x+3y=95

Then on solving further we get y=15 and x=10
