Required Answer:-

All the correct statements here.

- All of these are correct (D)

  • The blood stopped and a small clot was formed to prevent the loss of excess blood.
  • This happens because of the blood component known as platelets (or thrombocytes).
  • Vit. K is a necessary nutrient for the formation of blood clot. Hence, we should consume adequate amount of food rich in this vitamin.
  • The entire mechanism is explained in the attachment.
  • Platelets secretes prothombinase which converts prothrombin to thrombin. In the presence of thrombin, fibrinogen gets converted to fibrin. Fibrin and other platelets helps in the formation of clot.
