avg.speed=total distance÷total time
=(6*2+4*3)÷2+3
=24÷5=4.8km/h
total distance=24

Heya !

Your answer ↓

 Given :

1) Speed = 6 km/hr     Time = 2 hrs

2) Speed = 4 km/hr     Time = 3 hrs

Find :

1) Average speed

2) Total distance covered

Solution:

Speed = 6 km/hr     Time = 2 hrs

= 6 km × 2 hrs = 12 km

∴ In 2 hours 12 km can be covered

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

Speed = 4 km/hr     Time = 3 hrs

= 4 km × 3 hrs = 12 km

∴ In 3 hours 12 km can be covered

1) Average speed = Total Distance
                                ____________

                                 Total time

=   12 +12
    _______    = 24/5  (Will Divide) = 4.8 km/hr

      2 + 4

∴ The average speed = 4.8 km/hr

2) Total distance = 12 +12 = 24 km

∴ The boy traveled 24 km

⊕ Steps

⇒ First find how much distance did he covered in each part of the problem

⇒ Then divide the total distance from the total taken to find the average

⇒ Then add the distances to find the distance covered in all

 Hope this helps you a lot ☺️☺️☺️
