Explanation:

hello there

power is nothing but , rate of change of work done

work done by him = mgh

(40*10*20*20)/100

= 1600 J

power he develops = mgh/t

1600/30

that's the answer. hope you have a great day

Given : a boy of mass 40 kg climbs 20 steps of staircase each measuring 20cm high in 30s

To Find : the power developed by the boy

Solution:

Step height = 20 cm

Number of steps = 20

Total height raised = 20 * 20  = 400 cm

100 cm = 1 m

=> Total height raised = 4 m

Work done = Increase in potential energy  = mg ( height increased)

m = 40 kg

g = 10 m/s²

h = 4m

Work done =   40 * 10 * 4

= 1600 joule

=> Work done = 1600 joule

Power = Word done/ Time

=> Power =   1600 / 30

=> Power = 53.33 J/s

 Power = 53.33 J/s = 53.33 W

power developed by the boy = 53.33 W
