Dear Student,

● Answer -

Work done by the force in displacing the book = 1 N

◆ Explaination -

# Given -

F = 5 N

s = 20 cm = 0.2 m

# Solution -

Work done by the force in displacing the book is given by -

W = F.s

W = 5 × 0.2

W = 1 N

Hence, work done by the force in displacing the book is 1 N.

Thanks dear. Hope this is helpful to you...

PHYSICS

Given :-

Force (F) = 5 N

Distance (s) = 20 cm

To Find :-

The Work done (W)

Solution :-

Work Done or W can be calculated by the given formula :-

Work done (W) = Force (F) x Distance (s)

We are having the values of force and distance. We will be required to substitute these values in the above formula to calculate the work done.

Before substituting, we should check whether all the values given are in S.I. Unit or not. If not, we will convert them.

20 cm = 20/100 m = 0.2 m

W = F.s

W = 5*0.2

W = 1.0 J

⇒ The work done by the boy by applying the force of 5 N at a distance of 20 cm is 1 Joule.
