t2=40min

v1=18km/h

av=24km/h

v2=?

distance 20min=18*20/60

=6km

distance 40min=v2*40/60

av=(s1+s2)/(t1+t2)

24=(6+v2*40)/(20+40+60)

24=(6+v2*40)/120

24-6=v2/3

18=v2/3

18*3=v2

v2=54

so the speed in 40 min is 54km/h
