Answer:

The average speed is 4.8 km/h

Explanation:

According to the problem the distance from the boy's home to market is 2 km

therefore the boy has covered total 2+2= 4 km

Now to got to market from home the speed of the boy is 4km/h

Therefore time taken to reach market is 2km/4km/h=  1/2 h

While coming back his speed is 6 km/h

Therefore time taken to come back from market is 2km/6km/h= 1/3h

Therefore the total time taken by boy = 1/2+1/3=  5/6 h

Therefore the average speed is= total distance/total time

                                              =  4/5/6

                                              = 4.8 km/h
