A boy stands at one end of a corridor, both the doors are closed, when he claps his hand together , the echo of clap continues for some time due to the multiple reflections of sound from the doors of the corridor. The loudness of sound decreases because sound is absorbed by the doors and the walls .

This happens because with the passing time the energy which is being possessed by the wave it keeps reducing and also the amplitude will keep reducing. And the loudness of the sound actually depends on the Amplitude which is the reason why the loudness decreases.
