Given: A boy starts from A walks 3 km North, turns East and walks 3 km. He then turns South and walks 2 km, he then turns East and 4 km more. Finally he turns South and walks 6 km and reaches B.

To find: Total distance covered by the boy

Solution:

Distance covered starting from A towards North = 3km

Towards East = 3km

Towards South = 2km

Again towards East = 4km

Again towards South = 6km

Total distance covered by the boy = Sum of all the distances covered in different directions

i.e., 3km + 3km + 2km + 4km + 6km = 18km

Hence, total distance walked by the boy is 18km.
