A boy stretches a stone against the rubber tane
catapult or 'gulel (a device used to detach manpop
the tree by boys in Indian villages) through a distan
of 24 cm before leaving it. The tape returns to its norman
position accelerating the stone over the stretched length
The stone leaves the gulel with a speed 22 m/s. Assum
that the acceleration is constant while the stone was being
pushed by the tape, find its magnitude.

Answer:

initial velocity = 0

final velocity = 2.2m/s

distance travelled = 24cm = 0.24m

by,

 {v}^{2}  =  {u}^{2}  + 2as

 =  > a =  \frac{4.84}{2 \times 0.24}

 =  > 10.1m {s}^{2}
