Correct question :-

A boy threw a marble 28m vertically up in the air which later fell and settled on the bottom of the pond 12m  deep. By how much distance did the marble fall?

Solution :-

  • while traveling up it went 28m.

  • while falling again 28m.

  • and when it fell in the pond 12m

Therefore, total distance :

=> 28+28+12=68m

Hence, ans is 68 m.
