Answer:

Total distance covered=42km

Total time taken=4whole 1/2 hrs = 9/2 hrs

We know,

Average speed = Total Distance / Total time taken

Therefore,

Average speed=42/(9/2)=42 x 2/9 (reciprocal)

=84/9

= 9 whole3/9(ans)

Here's your solution hope you have understand... Thank You....

Answer:

distance  = 42km \\ time \: taken = 4 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{9}{2} \\ speed  =  \frac{distance}{time} \\  =   \frac{42}{ \frac{9}{2} }    \\   =  \frac{42 \times 2}{9}  \\  =  \frac{84}{9}  \\  = 9 \frac{3}{9}  \\  = 9 \frac{1}{3}

c.) 9+1/3 km/hr
