Answer:

20 km.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance be D

FORMULA

Time = Distance/Speed

Time taken from home to school = Distance ÷ 25 ( speed)

= D/25

Time taken from school to home = Distance ÷ 4 (speed)

= D/4

D/25 + D/4 = 5 4/5

29/100 D =29/5

145 D = 2900

D = 2900 ÷ 145

D = 20 km.

Answer:

20 km

Step-by-step explanation:

As boy go from Home to school and then come back from school to home so distance covered = equal in both case

Let say distance between Home and school = D km

Speed while going Home to School = 25 km/Hr

Time taken = Distance / Speed

Time taken from going home to school = D/25 Hr

Speed while going School to Home = 4 km/Hr

Time taken while going School to Home = D/4 Hr

Total Time Taken = D/25 + D/4  Hr

Total time taken given = 5 Hour 48 Mins

1 hr = 60 min so 48 Min =  48/60 hr =  4/5 hr = 0.8 hr

5 hr 48 min = 5.8 Hrs

 D/25  + D/4 = 5.8

Multiplying both sides by 100

 4D + 25D = 580

 29D = 580

Dividing both sides by 29

 D = 20

Hence Distance between Home and school = 20 km.
