Distance is the total path covered.
Displacement is the distance between initial and final position
Distance = 3+6+5 = 14  \:  \: km \\ <br />Displacement = \sqrt{ {(3 + 5)}^{2} +  {6}^{2}  }   \\ =  \sqrt{100}  = 10 \:  \: km
