the type of motion is non uniform motion.
average speed = total distance ÷ total time
=(30 m+30m) ÷ (1 min +1.5 min)
= 60 m ÷2.5 min
=24m/min
= 24m/60 s
=0.4 m/s

Answer:

The average speed is 0.4 ms^{-1}.

Explanation:

GIven:

The distance traveled by the boy is 30 meters(m) in one minute, another 30m in 1.5 minute

As the speed does not remain constant throughout. The journey of the motion of the boy is non-uniform.

Total distance traveled in going and coming back,

                                           d = 30m + 30m = 60m

Total time is taken in going and coming back

                                          t = (1+1.5) minutes = 2.5minutes.

                                            = 2.5×60s=150s

Average speed  = Total time of travel/Total distance traveled

                                         = \frac{60 metres}{150seconds}  =0.4 ms^{-1}.
