A boy was asked to find the value of 7/12 of a sum of money. Instead of multiplying the sum by 7/12 he divided it by 7/12 and thus his answer exceeded the correct answer by ₹95. Find the correct answer.

Let the original no be x.
 \frac{7}{12} of x= \frac{7x}{12}
 \frac{12}{7} of x= \frac{12x}{7}
Given ,
 \frac{12x}{7} - \frac{7x}{12} =195
 \frac{(12x*12-7x*7)}{84} =195
 \frac{144x-69x}{84} =195
 \frac{75x}{84}=195
⇒x= \frac{195*84}{75}
⇒x=212.4
⇒Correct answer:212.4 *  \frac{7}{12} =123.9
Ans:The correct answer is 123.9.
