A brakes applied to a car produced an acceleration of 6 m/s square in opposite direction of motion . if the car takes two sec to stop . calculate the distance it travel to this time.

 we have to find the initial velocity.

v = u + at

0 = u - 6 * 2

u = 12m/s

now finding distance we use s = ut + 1/2 at2

s = 12 * 2 + 1/2 * (-6) * 2

s = 24 - 6

s = 18 m
