A brick is 30cm long 10cm wide and 10cm thick .if weight is 24N and is lying on growing .find the pressure exerted by brick?

There are two possibilities

1. Brick is lying with area 30 cm × 10 cm in contact
Pressure = Force / Area
= (24 N) / (0.3 m × 0.1 m)
= 800 pa

2. Brick is lying with area 10 cm × 10 cm in contact
Pressure = Force / Area
= 24 N / (0.1 m × 0.1 m)
= 2400 pa
