What are the dimensions of the flower bed?
If there's a picture of the bed in the book then please attach the photo to this question.

I'm assuming the dimensions of the flower bed to be L=10m & B=5m

As the path around the flower bed is 2m
The dimensions of the outer rectangle becomes L+4 & B+4
(See the attached photo for clarity.)
Dimensions of outer rectangle is 14m & 9m

1) Area of flower bed=a=L*B=10×5=50m²

2) Perimeter of flower bed=p=2(L+B)=2(10+5)
p=2×15=30m

3) Cost of laying path=C=Area of path*Rate
Area of path=Area of outer rectangle-Area of inner rectangle
Area of path=(14×9)-(10×5)=126-50=76m²

C=Area of path×Rate
C= 76×8 = Rs.608
