Given information

Length of iron rod is =20 m

                                  =2000 cm at 20 degrees

Distance between length of two rods is=0.4 cm

Then the temp coefficient of linear expansion of iron is =11.5*10^-6

Finally formula for linear expansion of solids is

Δl\frac{delta l}{l}=[tex]\frac{alpha}{delta T}\

\frac{0.4}{2000}=11.5*10^-6*(T-16)

T=18+\frac{0.4}{11.6*10^-6}

=35.4°C
