A bubble of air is underwater at temperature 15°C
and the pressure 1.5 bar. If the bubble rises to the
surface where the temperature is 25°C and the
pressure is 1.0 bar what will happen to the volume of

Answer:

1.6

Explanation:

given A bubble of air is underwater at temperature 15°C

and the pressure 1.5 bar. If the bubble rises to the

surface where the temperature is 25°C and the

pressure is 1.0 bar what will happen to the volume of

the bubble ?

.We know that from ideal equation

V  ∝  T/P

Given T1 = 15 + 273 = 288, P1 = 1.5 bar

T2 = 25 + 273 = 298, P2 = 1 bar

V1 ∝ 288 / 1.5

V1 ∝ 192  V2 α 298 / 1

V2 / V1 = 298 / 192 = 1.55 = 1.6 V

Volume is greater by a factor of 1.6.V
