a bucket a full of water is to be taken to the top floor of a building . it can be done in two ways it can be pulled by a rope or some one can carrry it through the stairs . compare the work done

Work done in both cases will be the same...because equal amount of work is done. However, when you carry it yourself, you spend your energy.....however, the work done is same....because work done in this case is given by formula mgh,where m is the mass of the bucket, g is acceleration due to gravity and h is the height through which the bucket needs to be carried. Since value of m, g, and h remains constant in both cases, work done is also same.
