since mass of bucket is 12 kg
mass of half bucket should be 6kg
since in reality it is 8 kg
thus 8-6=2 kg is the mass of empty bucket

12 kg = Mass of bucket + Mass of Sand
when half of the sand is taken out, Mass = 8 kg, so Mass of the sand taken out is 4 kg, hence Mass of bucket = 12-4-4= 4kg
