{\bf{Given :}}

  • A bucket has top and bottom diameters of 40 cm and 20 cm respectively.

 \\ \\

{\bf{To Find :}}

  • Volume of bucket if it's depth is 12cm
  • Area of the tin sheet used to make the bucket

 \\

{\bf{Solution :}}

—Upper diameter = 40 cm

—Lower diameter = 20 cm

∴ Upper Radius (r1) =  \frac{40}{2}  = 20 \: cm

∴ Lower Radius (r2) =  \frac{20}{2}  = 10 \: cm

Depth or Height (h) = 12cm

 \\ \\

VOLUME OF THE BUCKET :

 \frac{\pi}{3} (r 1{}^{2}  + r1 \: r2 \:  + r2 {}^{2} )h

 \frac{22}{7}  \times 3 \: ( {20}^{2}  + 20 \times 10 +  {10}^{2} ) \times 12cm^{3} </p><p></p><p>➠ [tex]  \frac{22}{21} (400 + 200 + 100) \times 12cm^{3}

  \frac{22}{21}  \times 700 \times 12 = 8800cm ^{3}

Slant Height (l) =

{\bf{\sqrt{ {h}^{2} + (r1 - r2)^{2}  }}}

{\bf{\sqrt{12^{2}  + (20 - 10)^{2} }  =  \sqrt{144 + 100}}}

{\bf{\sqrt{244 \: cm}}}

 \\ \\

Surface Area of The Bucket =

{\bf{\pi(r1 + r2)l + \pi \: r \: 2 ^{2}}}

{\bf{3.14(20 + 10) \:  \:  \sqrt{244 }  + 3.14 \times  {10}^{2}  \: cm^{2}}}

{\bf{3.14 × 30 × 15.62 + 3.14 × (10)² cm²}}

{\bf{3.14 × 30 × 15.62 + 3.14 × 100cm²}}

{\bf{1471.404 + 314 cm²}}

{\bf{1785.404 cm² = 17.85404 dm²}}

 \\ \\

Cost of 1 dm² = 1.20 per dm²

∴ Total Cost = ₹12.85404 × 1.20

\rightarrow ₹21.42 = ₹21.40
