Density sometimes depends on the mass but thats very rare. It dosent really matter if the keroscene looks thicker.

Watet is 1g/ cm3 while keroscene is 0.78-0.81 g/ cm3 so it can be clearly understood that water has more density. The liquid which is having less density will float on the liquid having more density.
