Solution :

Given:

✏ EMF of battery = 8V

✏ Current through circuit = 0.3A

✏ Time interval = 10min

To Find:

✏ Total energy supplied by the battery.

Formula:

✏ Formula of energy supplied by battery in given time interval is given by

 \star \:  \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{ \sf{ \pink{ \large{W= V \times I \times t}}}}}} \:  \star

Terms indication:

✏ W denotes supplied energy

✏ V denotes EMF of battery

✏ I denotes current

✏ t denotes time interval

Conversation:

✏ 10min = 600s

Calculation:

 \implies \sf \: W = 8 \times 0.3 \times 600 \\  \\  \implies \:  \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{ \sf{ \purple{Energy \: supplies \: by \: battery = 1.44 \: kJ}}}}} \:  \gray{ \bigstar}

Additional information:

  • Electric energy is also given by

W = Pt = VIt = \sf{I^2}Rt

  \huge \mathtt{ \fbox{Solution :)}}

Given ,

  • Potential difference (v) = 8 volt
  • Current (I) = 0.3 amp

We know that , the product of potential difference and current is called electric power

  \large\mathtt{ \fbox{Power = VI}}

Thus ,

Power = 8 × 0.3

Power = 2.4 watt

And the the rate of work done of unit charge is also known as electric power

 \large \mathtt{ \fbox{Power =  \frac{work}{time} }}

Thus ,

2 4 = work/600

work = 1440 joule

Since , work done = energy

Hence , the total energy supplied by the battery is 1440 Joule
