A bullet is fired from a rifle with a muzzle velocity of 150 m/s. The rifle recoils with a velocity of 0.75 m/s. The mass of the rifle is 6 kg. What is the mass of the fired bullet?

we know that total momentum in a system is conserved so


mass of rifle × velocity of rifle = mass of bullet × velocity of bullet

6×0.75=m×150

m= 6×0.75/150
m=0.03kg =30g
