A bullet is fired with a velocity of 380 cm per second into a wooden block of thickness 0.19m.it emerges with a velocity of 1.2 metre per second find the acceleration of the bullet

\huge\underline{\underline{\bf \orange{Solution-}}}

\large\underline{\underline{\sf Given:}}

  • Bullet fire with Velocity {\sf (u)=380m/s}

Convert it into m/s

\implies{\sf  u=\dfrac{380}{100} }

\implies{\sf u = 3.8m/s }

  • Wooden block of thickness (s) = 0.19m
  • It emerges with velocity (v) = 1.2m/s

\large\underline{\underline{\sf To\:Find:}}

  • Acceleration of bullet (a)

\large{\boxed{\bf \blue{v^2-u^2=2as }}}

\implies{\sf (1.2)^2-(3.8)^2=2×a×0.19}

\implies{\sf 1.44-14.44=0.38a}

\implies{\sf 0.38a=-13}

\implies{\sf a=\dfrac{-13}{0.38}}

\implies{\bf \red{Acceleration ( a) = -34.2m/a^2}}

\huge\underline{\underline{\bf \orange{Answer-}}}

Bullet will retar d by {\bf \red{-34.2m/s^2}}.
