lets take mass, final velocity and initial velocity of bullet as M1 , V1,U1 respectively

lets take mass, final velocity and initial velocity of gun as M2,V2,U2 respectively

M1 = 10g = 1/100 kg

U1 = 0(starts from rest)

V1 = 5 m/s

M2 = 1 KG

U2 = 0(REST)

V2 =?

from law of conservation of mass,

M1U1 + M2U2 = M1V1 +M2V2

substituting values

(1/100*0) + (1*0) = 1/100*5+ 1*v

0 = 1/20 + 1v

0 = (1 + 20v)/20

0 = 1+20v

-1 = 20v

-1/20 = v

v = 0.05 m/s
