With 4/5 tank full the car travels 12 kms

Therefore with 1 tank full it travels 12*5/4

For 1/3 tank full the car travels 12*5/4 *1/3= 12*5/4*3 =5kms

Concept:

Arithmetic operations is a discipline of mathematics that deals with the study of numbers and their operations, which are helpful in all other branches of mathematics.

For all real numbers, the four basic arithmetic operations are:

Addition is the mathematical process of combining two or more items.

Subtraction is a mathematical operation that calculates the difference between two numbers.

Multiplication is often referred to as repeated addition.

Multiplication is the inverse of division.

Solution:

\frac{4}{5}tank = 12km\\ \frac{1}{3}tank=?\\\\distance = \frac{12*\frac{1}{3}}{\frac{4}{5}} \\distance =5km

The distance traveled by car is 5km.
